The RPNA was formed in 1999 to:
RPNA is a recognized a nonprofit volunteer organization organized to represent the residents of this area and to protect and promote its interests. Our association is responsible for one of the largest historic districts in the city, with more than 22,000 residents and two designated historic districts:
These historic districts have beautiful craftsman and bungalow homes on tree-lined streets reflecting the architecture of early Long Beach, from the turn of the century to the 1920s.
Our neighborhood has seen a renaissance in recent years as new residents have moved in and existing residents restored their homes to their original beauty. The RPNA helped facilitate the installation of historic street signs and obtained a $300,000 grant for a facade improvement project at Junipero and Seventh.
We are currently working to completely renovate our neighborhood icon, Rose Park, the small historic park located at Orizaba and Eighth Streets.
We also provide online news and information via our website, blog and facebook pages. Our street- and alley-cleaning efforts help beautify our area, while our annual picnic and holiday events help bring our neighbors and families together. We host a community events five or six times every year to inform, entertain and organize local residents. The RPNA Board of Directors works tirelessly each and every week to make the Rose Park Neighborhood a great place to live and raise our families.
You, too, can play a major role in the ongoing effort. Consider deepening your commitment to the neighborhood: Join the Rose Park Neighborhood Association.
