Signal Light and Spotlight

Never say never – so the Street Light aka signal at 4th and Obispo – (Thank you Councilmember Pearce) is receiving power. The big gala hurrah and let’s give it up to DPW will be Monday 10am May 13th. But as we’ve said we’ve waited this long the date may change so check social media. But on the big day the light will flash and the paparazzi will snap photos and we will all celebrate that this is one more reminder to slow down.

In the meantime our local public access channel PadNet produced a really smart video – it made us look good! Thank you Darick and team! And Jessica, Samana, Danielle, Janna and Richard who joined Gretchen in exampling civic engagement the Rose Park way.

There is still lots of love to go around.

Can we be too healthy? Are we healthy enough?

May 23rd 7pm-8:30pm at Luther Burbank School Library (parking off Dawson) we are tackling the healthy neighborhood question. A work group has already discussed community wide priorities and narrowed our local concerns. To reflect and gain key input we have invited the head of our Health Department, Kelly Calopy. Chris Robson – long time RP resident – and Vice-chair of the Health and Human Services Commission will chair a panel of experts in what goes on in/around Rose Park! Please join us. This is how neighborhoods improve.

And for those that have had Gil for the Postman for umpteen years – please come to say thank you. Gil who walked the walk in/around Rose Park – and lived here – is now set to retire. After our meeting we’ll walk over the The Prospector to suitably acknowledge him!
