Hello- The Planning Bureau has asked that we share the below information with neighborhood association and organizational leaders like you. There are 4 upcoming citywide workshops and other ways to provide feedback, including an online survey:

The City of Long Beach General Plan is a long-range policy document required by State law, which sets forth the goals, policies, and directions the City will take to achieve the vision of the community over the next 20 years.

The way we live and work has changed a lot since 1989 when the General Plan was last updated. The new Long Beach 2040 General Plan Land Use and Urban Design Elements focus on accomplishing the following goals:

- Healthy and Active Neighborhoods
- Industry and Economic Growth for the Port
- Housing Opportunities and Housing Quality
- Recreational Facilities and Open Space

We encourage you to attend one of these upcoming Citywide workshops to provide your input on the proposed General Plan update. The format and content presented will be the same for each workshop.

#2 – How is the Police Department doing
LBPD PUBLIC SURVEY – YOUR INPUT IS VALUABLE
The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) is asking for the public’s valuable input and would appreciate it, if people could take a few minutes to complete this survey about policing in the City of Long Beach. This is our second public survey as part of a multi-layered analysis and an independent assessment conducted by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
The purpose of this extensive study is to provide a current understanding of the Police Department, the community’s concerns, and needs on an internal and external scale. LBPD is proactively implementing the evaluation to receive practical and prioritized recommendations to help upgrade the effectiveness of police services.
