The Gerald Desmond Bridge (going to San Pedro) will be closed.

Port of Long Beach:

July 4thClosures of Ocean Blvd. and Harbor Scenic Drive South 

Related to the construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge, routes along southbound Harbor Scenic Drive, and eastbound and westbound Ocean Blvd. will be temporarily closed for the demolition of the northbound 1-710 connector ramp beginning Wednesday, July 4th. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to allow extra time. The closure will end by noon, Saturday, July 7.   • Rose Park attended recent follow-up of City’s Citizen’s Police Academy with demo of canine and helicopter units. FYI – we frequently wonder why the helicopters fly so low. Well one reason is that we have general aviation space above us, so the helicopters need to stay below a certain altitude. Next community workshops will be “WhydUStoppedMe” with core set of facilitators to work on problematic police encounters. Want to know more?
