Health and Safety Post – 911 Texts and Winter Shelter

The City is letting everyone know that they can text for emergency services “Call 911 if you can,  text if you can’t”. Here are the instructions.

The City has not set an opening date but it should be soon for the winter shelter. See press release from 2nd District Council.

Winter Shelter

…… City Council voted unanimously to open a Winter Homeless Shelter last night. The shelter will house 150 beds and will run through March 31, 2018. We understand that this does not fix our homeless related issues, but it is the right, and compassionate, thing to do while we work on more permanent solutions. The shelter does not have an open date yet, but we will release that information as soon as we have it.
