Neighbors Giving Back

Over 200 ornaments were made for the senior holiday gift bags and delivered to Redondo Plaza, Edgewater Skilled Nursing Center, Lutheran Towers. and Safe Refuge. Thank you to the local businesses and neighbors who participated in designing ornaments for the older adults living in our neighborhood. Rose Park Neighborhood Association hosted 3 “Giving Table” ornament-making sessions at Envy Studio, The Good Bar, and Winter Wonderland at Orizaba Park. Participants used mosaic, glitter, washi tape, markers, beads, and other creative materials to design the ornaments.

This collaboration is a holiday project known as Operation Holiday Hearts,” which provides holiday gift bags of personal care packages to bring hope and joy to seniors during the holiday season. Dedicated volunteers from the Heart of Ida filled the senior holiday gift bags (pictured below) with self-care items, word games, reading materials, and more! Heart of Ida is a local nonprofit that supports Long Beach seniors in need with programs and services that sustain independence and connection within their community.
