The mission of Rose Park Neighborhood is to increase the quality of life in our neighborhood. We currently assist 400 neighbors with a community food pantry with the nonprofit organization Help Me, Help You. Our fantastic volunteers prepare meals to seniors in affordable housing, and weekly farm boxes are distributed from Long Beach Farms, a Community Supported Agriculture system.

That is why the Rose Park Neighborhood Association is hoping to secure a farm space of our own to ensure neighbors have access to fresh produce and food distribution in our very own neighborhood. Our goal is to bring urban farming to a neglected space while feeding our neighbors.

We know hunger existed in our neighborhood before the impact of COVID-19 and the need has become even more urgent. We have identified congregate living and seniors in HUD buildings that were subsisting on little food – we have made many connections and with produce from the farm we can offer MORE to MORE of our neighbors – when they need it. The lasting impact is to know that there is always food available.
