Community Budget Meetings
Participate in the City’s fiscal year 2024 budget development process by sharing your service priorities at one of the upcoming community budget meetings or by completing the Long Beach Budget Priority Survey. The community budget meetings will be held in person at multiple locations throughout the city, and one meeting will be in a virtual format.
This year’s community budget meetings will be held on the following days:
- Monday, Jan. 23, 6:30 to 8 p.m. – El Dorado Park West (2800 N Studebaker Rd.), Teen Center
- Wednesday, Jan. 25, 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W Broadway), Meeting Room A
- Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Michelle Obama Library (5870 Atlantic Ave.), Community Room
- Monday, Feb. 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Zoom Webinar
Advanced registration for the virtual meeting is required in order to receive the link to the Zoom meeting. Interpretation services will be available for all meetings. Help shape the mission of the Long Beach Commission for Women and Girls (LBCWG). LBCWG is committed to working intersectionally and inclusively to promote equality and justice for all women and girls focusing on economic and educational equity, access to health care, including reproductive choice, violence against women, safety and other key issues affecting women and girls.
The goal of the survey is for the commission to understand what women and girls need, want, and deserve. The results from the survey will be presented to the Long Beach City Council.

A Strategic Master Plan for Unhoused Long Beach Residents
Project Dignity is a community collaboration of neighborhood association, faith-based organizations, and community-based organizations advocating for unhoused neighbors in Long Beach.
Project Dignity’s efforts at McArthur Park and Anaheim Corridor has grown into political action for social justice. While they continue the Mondays Matter mutual aid outreach, Project Dignity’s activism reaches beyond the park and into city hall.
Join Project Dignity’s advocacy to demand:
1. Accountability and Overseeing of Homeless-related RFPs and contracts
2. Collaboration between the 20+-year old Multi Service Center (MSC) with community based organizations, facilities, and community groups; and Multi Points of Entry not just the MSC
3. A Strategic Master Plan with timelines, checks and balances
4. Mental Health and Rehabilitation facilities (assisted living)
5. Housing First with Trauma-informed workers and case management plan with transparency
