What We Do – Who We Are

Rose Park Neighborhood Association

The Rose Park Neighborhood Association was formed in 1999 to:

  • Foster cooperation, communication and pride among residents of the area.
  • Create a positive identity for Rose park throughout Long Beach and beyond.
  • Encourage an understanding of citizenship and civic responsibility.
  • Promote an appreciation for the neighborhoods architectural history and its preservation
  • Increase the quality of life in our neighborhood.

We are the recognized nonprofit volunteer organization organized to represent the residents of this area and protect and promote its interests. We’re bounded by 10th St on the North, 4th St on the South, Cherry Ave on the West, and Redondo Ave on the East, and we include two of Long Beach’s largest designated historic districts: Rose Park North (north of Seventh Street) and Rose Park South (south of Seventh Street).

Our historic districts are comprised of beautiful craftsman and bungalow homes that date from the beginning of the twentieth century to the late-1920s, reflecting the architecture of early Long Beach. More than 10,000 residents call Rose Park home.

We provide online news and information via our website, door-to-door newsletter, Neighborhood Directory and weekly newsfeed. Online we maintain a presence through our Facebook page and Instagram feeds.

Our annual events such as our tree lighting party each December help to bring our neighbors and families together. Our other legacy events include the BIG heART (Art event and fundraiser), the Springtime by the Sea (environmental resource fair in the Park), and the Sunday Picnic in the Park every July. We host community meetings three times yearly to inform and connect local residents. Our events are found on our home page.

The RPNA Board of Directors work with residents, other community organizations, and business leaders within and outside our boundaries to make the Rose Park Neighborhood a great place to live, work, and raise our families.

You, too, can play a major role in the ongoing effort. Annual memberships run January 1st through December 31st, and costs $25 per household. To find out more visit our membership page.
