SUPPORTING US HERE for Long Beach Gives 2025. This citywide fundraising campaign for Long Beach nonprofits begins on Thursday, September 11th and ends at midnight on Thursday, September 18th.
ArtWorksLBC Director Dawn Mendelson and Rose for Rose Park Artist Cody Lusby are leading the community and residents of Safe Refuge, a substance abuse recovery program, to make a 40 foot long mosaic mural. Through this process, Safe Refuge clients and community participants learn the skills of mosaic art and build community by supporting each other through the creative process.
The first installation of the Safe Refuge Mosaic Mural will take place in the alleyway of 7th Street and Freeman Avenue on Thursday, September 18th from 9am to 5pm. Neighbors are invited to come out any time throughout the day to help out and cheer us on!
