8/29, ALLEYWAY MEETUP
| It’s another alleyway meetup in Rose Park Neighborhood on Saturday, August 29th from 10 AM to 12 PM! Stroll on over to the alleyway at 2720 E 8th Street for coffee and pastries. This event will offer two workshops featuring Roses for Rose Park rose medallions with Cody Lusby and ArtWorksLBC mosaic art with Dawn Mendelson. Cody and Dawn will also present a mock up for a new mosaic rose mural and will be asking for resident feedback! Disabled Resources Center will provide emergency preparedness resources and energy conservation tips for residents when a Flex Alert is issued by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). A Flex Alert is typically issued in the summer when extremely hot weather drives up electricity use, making the available power supply scarce. This event is a community sponsorship provided by the Port of Long Beach. In July, Harbor Commissioners approved 353 Port of Long Beach community sponsorships totaling $944,725 – bringing the fiscal year total to a record $3,080,625 in funding for a wide variety of local community events and projects centering on the environment, education, social justice, the arts and historic preservation. |
