EARTH DAY EVENT AT ROSE PARK

Rose Park Neighborhood and Bluff Heights Neighborhood Association hosted the 2nd annual Earth Day event at Rose Park on Sunday, April 13th. Thanks to the sponsorship from the Port of Long Beach and our community partners who attended the event to provide resources such as Long Beach Utilities, Public Works Litter Free program, Algalita, Long Beach Time Exchange, Long Beach Organics, and to our artists Dawn Mendelson, Mica Salatino, and David Hedden for organizing the eco-friendly art projects. Thank you to Vanessa of Litter Free Long Beach for bringing additional resuable materials and trash supplies for attendees to design creative art projects.

Families learned about a variety of butterfly species and participated in a butterfly release at the end of the day! Attendees were encouraged to Act Local, Think Global, and we appreciate everyone, especially our wonderful volunteers who came out to help and engage our community for a beautiful day at the park!

SAVE THE DATE for the SUMMERTIME PICNIC IN ROSE PARK on Sunday, June 22nd from 12pm to 3pm.
