For those tracking the Land Use Element

Whether this has been on your radar – or not, it’s worth checking out the recent press release from City Hall regarding the Land Use Element process and document.  Here it is in its entirety with lots of “how to get more info” links. Election season heats up – April 10th!

The 2nd District does not have a council election BUT we do have LB Unified School District election (see map below). On April 10th candidates for District #3 of the LB Unified Board of Supervisors which covers our neighborhood above East 7th St will be up for election.  This can all get confusing – which may be why many residents don’t pay attention these candidates.

So for “half” of Rose Park – north of East 7th St. there are three candidates vying for the position currently held by John McGinnis. RPNA will try to reach out to these candidates to see if they can come to one of our functions to meet with residents. We’ve done this in the past for council elections where candidates can introduce themselves.

In the meantime, and a direct path to civic engagement is to be a poll worker ($ involved with a day’s stipend!). Here is that application.
