At the Cultural Heritage Commission Meeting

Dennis Herbert and Gretchen Swanson, RPNA Board Members attended February’s Cultural Heritage Commission meeting. Two neighborhood applications were presented. One in Rose Park and one in Rose Park South both for garages. Both were approved – but with conditions. You can find the meeting minutes with the decision details – once they are posted.   There is a move to have suitable off-street parking but keep these secondary structures in accordance with the Historic District guidelines and the Secretary of the Interior’s guidance in these matters.

The commission meetings are informative – and for those who are contemplating a change to their home’s footprint or some other exterior modification it would be well worth it to attend to see how these applications are reviewed.
